Where are Roma Segreta Apartments located in Rome?

Roma Segreta Apartments are located in the Rione Monti district at Via della Polveriera 40, 00184 Rome, under 100 metres from the Colosseum (about two minutes on foot) and four minutes from Colosseo station on Metro Line B. Both apartments are on the first floor and the building has no lift. The address sits outside Rome's ZTL limited-traffic zone, so guests can arrive by car without ZTL fines and park at the partner garage "Roma Park Colosseo" at Via Ostilia 48.

What amenities are included at Roma Segreta Apartments?

Each apartment includes fibre Wi-Fi at 400 Mbps, air conditioning and heating, a fully equipped kitchen with induction cooktop, oven, washer-dryer, toaster and Nespresso, an OLED Smart TV, fresh linen and towels, a Dyson hairdryer and its own private 15 m² courtyard. The Boutique Apartment has one bathroom and the Design Apartment has two. A one-off cleaning fee of €50 per stay is added at booking.

Check-in is from 2:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM, with the access code and detailed directions sent before arrival. Are pets allowed at Roma Segreta Apartments?

No, Roma Segreta Apartments do not accept pets. Guests travelling with animals are kindly asked to arrange alternative accommodation, as the apartments are maintained pet-free for the comfort of all guests.

Are Roma Segreta Apartments suitable for families with children?

Yes, the apartments are family-friendly: free cots are provided on request and the quiet Monti location is about two minutes on foot from the Colosseum. The fully equipped kitchen makes children's meals easy, and Rome's tourist tax (€6 per person per night, for up to 10 nights) is not charged for children under 10. Please note that highchairs and other child equipment are not available.

How many people can each Roma Segreta apartment sleep?

Each of the two apartments sleeps up to 4 guests, with one king-size bed and one sofa bed. Free cots are available on request for families travelling with infants.

How much do Roma Segreta Apartments cost per night?

Both apartments start from €149 a night. The price changes with the season and with demand, so the booking calendar on this page always shows the real figure for your dates. The minimum stay is 1 night, and a Rome tourist tax of €6 per person per night applies separately (maximum 10 nights, children under 10 exempt).

If you arrive in Rome before your apartment is ready, we offer luggage storage so you can start exploring Rione Monti and the Colosseum right away, hands free. Roma Segreta is waiting whenever you are.

Leaving

Check-out is by 11am, but Rome rarely lets you leave on time. We keep your luggage safe both before check-in and after check-out, so the morning of departure becomes another slow walk through Rione Monti, another espresso near the Colosseum, another quiet hour in the Roman Forum before the airport finds you again.

Eating

We don't run a restaurant, and honestly the neighbourhood does it better. Rione Monti has some of the oldest bakeries, caffès and trattorie in central Rome, all within a few minutes' walk from our door. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen if you'd rather cook. For dinner, ask us before you arrive: we'll send a short list of places we actually eat at, not the ones with menus in four languages.

Special Requests

Tell us what would make the stay yours. Past guests have asked for a crib in the bedroom, extra towels for the courtyard, a bottle of Cesanese waiting on arrival, a private driver to the Vatican at sunrise, a guided walk of the Roman Forum before the crowds, or a quiet table booked at a trattoria with no menu in four languages. Roma Segreta is small enough to actually listen, and small enough to remember.

Getting Here

The apartments are two minutes on foot from the Colosseum, in Rione Monti, the first of Rome's rioni. This is what the Romans once called the Suburra: the dense, restless quarter where Julius Caesar grew up, where bakers, poets and artisans lived between the Esquiline and Viminal hills. Two thousand years later you can still walk those same lanes to the Roman Forum in five minutes. From Fiumicino, the Leonardo Express reaches Termini in 32 minutes, then a short taxi or a 12-minute walk brings you to the door. From Ciampino, a taxi takes around 40. We don't offer private parking, but Roma Segreta sits just outside Rome's ZTL, the limited-traffic zone, so you can actually reach our street by car. The closest secure garage is Roma Park Colosseo in Via Ostilia 48, a few minutes on foot. Tell us your arrival time and plate in advance and we'll guide you in.

House Rules

Roma Segreta is a quiet property in a historic Roman building, and we ask guests to keep it that way. Quiet hours after 10pm, no smoking indoors, no parties. We are sorry, but we cannot accept pets of any size. Families travel with us often: a crib, extra linens and the small things that make travelling with children easier are always free of charge, and Colle Oppio park is two minutes away. Fibre Wi-Fi runs at 400 Mbps throughout the apartment, fast enough for video calls, large uploads and two people working at once, with a proper desk and morning light for guests who stay longer. Rome's city tax is not included in the rate: 6 euro per person per night, paid on site as the Comune requires, with children under 10 staying tax-free. Beyond that, the apartment is entirely yours.
