Where is the apartment located in Rome, and how close is the Colosseum?
Roma Segreta is under 100 metres from the Colosseum, in the heart of Rione Monti, the first rione of Rome. This is the ancient Suburra, where Julius Caesar grew up between the Esquiline and Viminal hills. The Roman Forum is five minutes away, Piazza Venezia ten, the Trevi Fountain fifteen. The apartment is 50 m² on the first floor of a historic palazzo, with no lift, and has 3.5-metre ceilings, exposed wooden beams, terracotta brick walls and its own private 15 m² internal courtyard.
How does self check-in work, and can I arrive late at night?
Check-in is fully self-managed, 24/7, from 2pm. A secure digital code and arrival instructions reach you before your stay, so you can land at Fiumicino at 6am or at midnight from Ciampino and walk straight to the door. No reception, no waiting, no minimum stay. Check-out is by 11am. If you arrive before the apartment is ready, we store your luggage free of charge so you can start exploring Rione Monti and the Colosseum right away.
What's included, and how many guests can stay?
The apartment is 50 m² and sleeps up to 4 guests across one double bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with induction cooktop, oven, washer-dryer, toaster and Nespresso. Also included: fibre Wi-Fi at 400 Mbps, OLED Smart TV, air conditioning and heating, fresh linen and towels, Dyson hairdryer, a private 15 m² courtyard, and a welcome kit with Roman coffee, olive oil and salt. Cots and extra linens are always free. Boutique Apartment has one bathroom; Design Apartment has two.
How much does a stay cost, and what's included in the price?
The apartment starts from 149 euro per night, with no minimum stay. Rates change with the season and with demand, so the live price for your dates is always shown on our booking calendar before you confirm. The rate includes the full apartment, fibre Wi-Fi at 400 Mbps, all linen and towels, the welcome kit, free luggage storage and self check-in at any hour. A one-off cleaning fee is added at booking. Rome's city tax is not included: 6 euro per person per night for a maximum of 10 nights, paid on site, with children under 10 exempt.
How do I get here from Fiumicino or Ciampino, and is there parking nearby?
From Fiumicino, the Leonardo Express reaches Roma Termini in 32 minutes, then a short taxi or 12-minute walk brings you to Roma Segreta. From Ciampino, a taxi takes around 40 minutes; private transfers available on request. Colosseo and Cavour metro stations on Line B are both a 4-minute walk. The building sits just outside Rome's ZTL, so you can reach our street by car. The closest secure garage is Roma Park Colosseo in Via Ostilia. Share your arrival time and car plate in advance.
What's the difference between the two apartments, and are pets allowed?
The two apartments are the same: 50 m² each, on the first floor of the same building in Rione Monti, each with its own private 15 m² courtyard, each sleeping up to 4 guests, each from 149 euro per night. The single difference is the bathrooms — Boutique Apartment has one, Design Apartment has two, which makes Design the natural choice for two couples travelling together or families with teenagers. Neither apartment has a lift. Roma Segreta is a pet-free property: we are unable to accommodate animals of any size, including small dogs and cats. Smoking is allowed only in the courtyard.
